Emma Catherine

After labor of about 8 1/2 hours, Emma was born at 8:05 pm on March 14th.
I had tremendous help from Clinton, our fabulous midwife, and excellent nurses. With my super support team I managed to go without drugs.
Yep - all natural. And at 9 lbs 15 oz, that took some doing. 21 inches... an inch shorter than Lizzy and nearly a pound heavier.
I'm very pleased with the experience. She is healthy and hungry. She passed all her tests and is home now. We're both doing fine, though we're both pretty tired still.
My photos are a bit backwards chronologically; here's the scream of defiance at the cruel world that evicted her from her warm safe incubator.

Wow! You are my hero! A baby that sized and no drugs?! Amazing. (by the way, that is what Rusty weighed at 4 weeks old) Congratulations!

Oh congratulations Mindy! She is absolutely perfect in every way. I love her name too!

Man, girl, you have some big babies! And all natural? Not me, I was like, 'Gimme the epidural!' the second I felt something that may have been a contraction. I suffer from a condition known as wussitis. You, however, are a strong and amazing person. I already knew that, though!

beautiful name! Beautiful baby! Beautiful mommy of 2. Congratulations!

I agree with others, you are amazing for the natural birth. I gave in for my under 4 lb baby. I honestly can't imagine 10 lbs.
