We may be house hunting for 5 more years. Maybe I'm exaggerating. Just a bit. This last week featured 3 trips to Virginia. Wish us luck; we're submitting 3 offers.
Because we want a house, last week I returned to work at the conclusion of my maternity leave. It won't be long; I just have to earn a down payment.
I never missed a thing about work, and being back to work solidifies my resolve to retire.
It's a good job. I'll be happy to leave corporate America from this one.
Do I count down to my last day of work?
My first day of retirement?
Submission of my resignation?
Well, it'll still be a few months.
I think I need a paper chain.

PS - you going to be around in July? I'm spending the next 5 weeks at my moms in NJ (J has Navy training in Rhode Island). J's sister lives in Virginia and we were thinking of taking a little trip down that way. Maybe we could stop and say hello!

It is the hardest thing to be working while someone else is taking care of your kids- I agree.
