Clinton

I'm still playing games with Jeri Dawn. Her latest question is "What are some of the first things you noticed/fell in love with about your spouse?"

My first memory of Clinton - I had just arrived in a new ward (church congregation) and he was sitting up front... possibly with the choir or something. He was taking notes on what was being said and sat there with the ease of a general authority... like he was comfortable being defined by his faith. Aside from that, I noticed his big Dumbo ears and straight-sticking-up hair and thought he was just a little goofy-looking -- which is a description that would fit a lot of my former crushes.

Upon finagling an introduction, I learned he had served a mission in Eastern Europe and spoke Bulgarian, a Slavic language, which got my attention all the more. Then I found out how old he was and thought, "Well, we can be friends, anyway."

Within a couple weeks, I heard somebody commenting that sign-up sheets that went through the women were always filled quickly, and the ones that went through the men often came back with only Clinton's name on them. Now that he works long hours and has two children, I'm not always as impressed with his volunteer attitude, particularly when he wants to help somebody recover their fried 7-year-old computer the week I'm trying to move house, but mostly I love that he is service-focused.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what that feels like--having a service oriented husband. But one thing I did learn, if someone wants help they have to ask him themselves!

I can't imagine you with anyone but Clinton. You are a match made in Heaven (literally, I'm sure!) and I love that he makes you so happy.
