Today as I was reading Pinkalicious to Lizzy for the third time in a row, she pointed out the [purple] rain on about page 2 or 3. Sure enough, it was raining out our window too; though not exactly purple. More gray.
So we decided to bring a book to life. Lizzy helped a lot. She cracked one egg, wiped the sticky egg goo up the length of my arm, and let me crack the other two eggs.
Here are our Pinkalicious cupcakes. This evening when Clinton asked Lizzy to bring something to him, and she needed a second asking, Clinton asked, "Pretty please with sugar on top."Lizzy brought him the something, along with a pinkalicious cupcake.
And speaking of children's stories, is anybody else as skeptically excited to see "Where the Wild Things Are?"I was a Wild Thing for my second grade story day, even after my mother begged me to be something easier to create. I insisted that would not fulfill the requirement; we were supposed to come as our favorite character, not just any old character.
What was your favorite as a child?

You're a good mom. :)
Ramona.
"Where the Wild Things Are" is coming to the screen? I didn't know that.
Like Cindy, I loved Ramona too. I also loved Nancy Drew. I could read two of those books in one day. Loved 'em.
Oh yeah, I forgot that was coming out. I loved that book too, so I am totally excited.
What a fun activity. I love that Lizzy was helping. Such a sweet, and funny girl she is.
And at the moment, I'm not quite sure who my very favorite character was, but I'm sure if I racked my brain, I'd come up with dozens that I'd want to dress up as. I'm cracking up that you chose that one. It's awesome.
My Mom read us that book and she would say, "Where the Wiiiiiiiild Things Are." My favorite was probably Laura Ingalls Wilder.
I so love the cup cake pictures! The one with little Lizzy's face behind all those cup cakes is ADORABLE! Cute! Cute! Cute! And a very fun idea. I can't wait to be able to do things like that with Lucy. What a fun mom you are to make a book come to life for your kids! The Little House on the Prairie books were my favorites.
I enjoyed the books of Roald Dahl. James and the Giant Peach (how could I not relate? He even had my name, I didn't have to put it in there) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/ Glass elevator/ and of course the BFG. I also loved Ender's Game! I think later came the LOTR etc. hard to say sometimes. . .
