One

Emma entered our lives a year ago.

She didn't make quite the mess that many kids do with their first birthday cake. Emma needs a fork or a spoon in order to eat, and she has no appetite for food that we feed her; she does it herself.
This morning we visited the doctor. She's 30 inches long and almost 20 pounds. Healthy, and up to date on her shots.
She walks, tries to talk, eats with a spoon, and now has ten teeth, the ninth and tenth breaking the surface late last week.
She's a girl of strong opinions and great smiles. She loves Lizzy and she loves daddy and she loves me. She is happy most of the time and likes books.
She is a delight in our lives and we wish her another great year.
