So every time I contemplate naming a car, I think of Car-go.
My first was a Saturn named Nadyejda - Nadya for short. It's a Russian name that means hope, as in, I hope this car keeps going til I can afford another. Nadya was mostly red. She had one blue front fender and one blue rear fender. I stuffed a pillow into the driver seat under my beaded seat cover to try to make it more even; but it didn't stop it being broken.
My next car was Louis, which I bought largely due to the influence of Car-go. A Honda Accord, and reliable enough to still sit in front of my house more than 7 years later.
Clinton's red Jetta was Boo-Boo. He admits that it was a girl car; but so fun to drive. We sold it to an almost-16 girl whose only concern was that it was red. Her mother's only concern was the quality of the radio. The step-father was at least a semi-logical individual.
We thoroughly enjoyed our '97 4Runner, Boris. He was a fairy tale, sunroof, 4-wheel drive, off-roading fun, towing, CD, A/C, and just plain fun. Boris seems like a good name for an iron-pumping, sunglass-wearing, bic'd bodyguard. Really, though, the Boris I thought of when naming the 4Runner was a sweet 8-year old kid in Russia.
Upon purchasing this '02 Sienna, I thought of Car-go; but clearly he isn't a car. He's a van. Van-go led me to think that Vincent would be a stunning name; however, Lizzy will hear of nothing but Mouse.
Meet Mouse.
Louis is having new problems that seem expensive. We aren't fixing him; just driving him 'til he doesn't go any more. Mouse is luxurious. working A/C, remote locks, working radio, and SO MUCH SPACE.

Welcome to the van club!
Ahhh, a mom-mobile! I hate to admit it, but I actually really like my van. Congrats!
I'm breathing a sigh of relief for you.... Ahhh.
I love my van. It's time to think of a good name for him/her. We've had him/her over a year and still don't know his/her gender. I slack.
I like the name Mouse. Good job, Lizzie.
She's a beauty, congrats. :)
Ha ha! I got a laugh out of remembering "Car-go" and all the fond memories of the fun names with Marci's "precious car-go". I can still see "the look" we would get too! Ha ha. (Love ya Marci!) Anyway, congrats on the van! Looks nice. I think it needs a drive to Virginia soon! And I have to say, "Mouse" is a great name!
Yeah, Van-go doesn't have the same ring to it as Car-go. As I was reading your post all I could think of was the looks on Marci's face, too. Good choice... we have a white one a year or so older. We love having a van-truck. (You know, you take out the seats and it is now a "truck.")
Car-go never existed in my mind. But that great little Honda Accord was...well Great! I understand about the car troubles. We now have only, for that reason. Hopefully someday soon that will change. Welcome to the world of minivans!
