Thursday was Mom's day. She requested a nice leisurely day at home so we could chat and enjoy one another's company. Hollie, Cassidy, and Brooklyn were also there, so of course Lizzy had cousins to play with all day.Mom made ebleskivers for breakfast. They take some time to make and eat, so it's the perfect meal for a leisurely brunch.
We then pulled out 8 large bins of Christmas decorations that haven't been put up since 2001 and did some sorting and a wee tiny bit of decorating. I admit to instigating this activity; Jen, Becky, Michael, and David have childhood ornaments on their trees. I was married in 2004 and haven't any childhood decorations on my tree.
Mom directed several classic ornaments to be given to their respective owners, or divided among the 7 kids if names weren't on them. Don't worry; she still has plenty in her collection for the next time that she decides to trim a tree.
Michael and David arrived in time for dinner, followed by games. Some of us stayed up pretty late playing Rock Band.
